MARRIAGE CELEBRANT
Your ceremony. Your story. Your rules.
Jay Allen is a multi winner of "Best Marriage Celebrant" at the Wedding Industry Awards. He creates ceremonies that are relaxed, personal, legal and a little bit cheeky. All while keeping you relaxed and excited.
NO SCRIPTS. NO TEMPLATES. NO BEIGE.
A ceremony that sounds exactly like you.
Jay listens to your story, figures out your sense of humour, and creates something that genuinely sounds like the two of you decided to get married rather than attending a government formality reading of 'storytime' by ChatGPT in nice clothes.
The result is a ceremony that's relaxed without being casual, funny without trying too hard, heartfelt without veering into greeting-card territory. Guests regularly say it's the first ceremony they've actually enjoyed. That's the goal every single time.
"Your ceremony should feel like the best conversation you've ever had in front of all the people you love."

CEREMONY STYLE
However you want it. Exactly how you want it.
No two couples are the same, and no two ceremonies should be either. Jay adapts completely to your vibe.
01
Relaxed & Intimate
Low-key, heartfelt and warm. For couples who want to feel like they're just talking to their favourite people, not performing for them.
02
Cheeky & Fun
Plenty of laughs, light roasting (only with permission) and a ceremony the guests will be quoting at the dinner table for years.
03
Romantic & Heartfelt
Beautiful without being soppy. Emotional without making your stoic uncle uncomfortable. The kind of ceremony that makes people forget they promised themselves they wouldn't cry.
04
Pop Culture & Themed
Woven through with the films, games, music or fandoms that tell your story. Genuinely personal, genuinely joyful and completely unlike anyone else's wedding.
THE LEGAL BIT
How to legally get married in Australia.
There are five legal requirements under the Marriage Act 1961. They sound complicated. They aren't. And Jay handles every single one of them.
1
Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)
At least one month before the ceremony, you must lodge a formal notice with your celebrant. This is the government's way of making sure the marriage is legitimate. Jay creates the form, walks you through it and lodges it on your behalf.
2
Proof of Identity & Eligibility
Both parties provide identification (passport or birth certificate) and confirm they are free to marry — over 18, not already married and not closely related. Jay collects and verifies these documents well ahead of the day.
3
Monitum (Legal Declaration)
During the ceremony, the celebrant must say the legal words: "I am duly authorised by law to solemnise marriages according to law..." It sounds formal. Jay delivers it in a way that doesn't make the room fall asleep.
4
Vows
Each person must say a legally prescribed form of words — though there's plenty of flexibility around them. Jay helps you work your personal vows around the legal requirements so the whole thing flows naturally.
5
Signing the Marriage Certificate
The couple, two witnesses and the celebrant sign three copies of the marriage certificate. Jay registers the marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages on your behalf — you receive your official certificate in the weeks following the ceremony.
The short version: Jay takes care of all of it.
You don't need to memorise the Marriage Act or track down a single form. Jay knows the legal requirements inside out, manages every document, meets every deadline and makes sure everything is lodged correctly after the ceremony. Your only job is to show up, say your words and enjoy being married. Everything else is handled.
Let's write your ceremony.
